The Z4000 NS envelope generator in its black panel. A voltage-controlled analogue ADSR with a built-in CV processor: Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release each have a knob and a control-voltage input, the first half of the A, D and R knobs' travel given to millisecond settings. ATTEN. scales and inverts the output, and DEVIATER, under voltage control at VC, mirrors or clips it; a lamp shows the level in both polarities. An ATK SLOPE switch picks a logarithmic or exponential attack, SHOOT fires the envelope by hand, and RTRIG retriggers it for legato playing.
