Bi-Di Choppers
Two bidirectional choppers
Panel · 40.6 × 128.5 mm
Description
A dual, stripped-down version of the NLC Chopper, after S.K. Mullick and K.R. Srivathsan's 1975 nonlinear delta modulator. Each chopper switches one signal into two or two into one, its switching point set by SET and its CV; unlike a plain switch, the signals being switched also drive the switching, so it does unexpected things. It drops the original's comparator output, makes the slew adjustable and lets its two sides work as inputs or outputs. For CV and audio.
Key features
- Two choppers: A with B1 and B2, C with D1 and D2, each jack an input or an output
- SLEW, SET and CV knobs on each, with its CV input
- A lamp on each
- 8 HP; Nonlinearcircuits publishes no current draw, depth or assembled price (it sells the DIY PCB and panel), and ModularGrid lists none
