Mutable Instruments' texture synthesizer in 18 HP: a granular processor that records the incoming audio and replays it as overlapping grains, with a FREEZE that holds the last seconds of sound.

Key features

• POSITION, SIZE and PITCH set where in the buffer the grains are taken, how long they last and their transposition
• DENSITY sows grains randomly or at a constant rate; TEXTURE morphs their envelope, then adds a diffuser
• BLEND controls, in turn, dry/wet balance, stereo spread, feedback and reverb
• FREEZE button and gate input stop the recording; four audio quality settings, stereo inputs and outputs
• Four memory slots to load and save the audio buffer
• Made from January 2015 to October 2017; the design is open source
