DIY Dtech VCF
Polivoks-based lowpass/bandpass filter by Edward Dtech, with resonance CV, curve and slope
Panel · 71.1 × 128.5 mm
Description
Erica Synths' DIY Dtech VCF, retired, sold as a kit and assembled: a 14 HP filter on the original Russian K140UD12 ICs of the Polivoks VCF, designed by Edward Dtech, PCB by Girts, Erica Synths. Besides its cutoff and resonance it controls the resonance by CV, the filter's curve and the resonance's slope, and sends its two CV inputs to the cutoff, the resonance or both; its sound ranges from deep, bassy tones to resonant screams beyond the Polivoks'.
Key features
- Lowpass, about 12 dB/oct at the maximum slope setting and 6 dB/oct at the minimum, or bandpass, 6 dB/oct, the slope setting its bandwidth
- CUTOFF CURVE: the lowpass slope and the bandpass width, from flat to steep
- RES. SLOPE: from a flat resonance that never self-oscillates to Polivoks-like screams
- Resonance CV input with its level
- CV1 and CV2 with their levels, CV2 reversible, sent to the cutoff, the resonance or both by CV ASSIGN
- Input level, buffered inputs with diode protection, 1V/oct response
- +62 mA, -56 mA, 45 mm deep
