VCNO
Hexinverter voltage-controlled noise oscillator
Panel · 30.5 × 128.5 mm
Description
Hexinverter's voltage-controlled noise oscillator, made by Erica Synths: a linear feedback shift register built from discrete analogue parts, from white noise down to crunchy vintage video-game noise.
Key features
- PITCH knob and CV input with a bipolar attenuverter, for all four outputs at once
- NOISE, the main output, and GATES, the same signal DC-coupled for random triggers
- Three alternative outputs: SCRCH (a howling overtone), SIZZLE (with its own control, down to vinyl crackle) and TEAR
- CLOCK input replacing the internal generator, for pseudorandom patterns in time with a sequencer
- 6 HP, 30 mm deep, 49 mA on +12 V and 39 mA on -12 V
