Frames

Mutable Instruments' keyframer and mixer, in 18 HP: four VCAs whose levels are animated between keyframes by the big FRAME knob or a CV.

Key features

• Four channels, each a VCA with its input and output; the ALL input feeds every unpatched input, the MIX output collects every unpatched output
• Up to 20 keyframes: ADD stores the four levels at the FRAME knob's position, DEL removes them; turning FRAME plays the animation, interpolating between keyframes
• The FRAME knob lights in each keyframe's colour; a lamp per channel shows its level, a larger one the keyframes
• FRAME CV input with a MODULATION attenuverter, to play the animation from an LFO or envelope; FR. STEP output, a pulse at each keyframe crossed
• +10V OFFSET switch: a constant voltage into ALL, to turn the outputs into four CV sources
• Per-channel easing curves and response, from linear to logarithmic; made from March 2014 to June 2021; the design is open source
