Amplitenuator
Panel · 20.3 × 128.5 mm
Description
A 4 HP utility module in two sections. Section A is a bipolar amplifier and attenuverter with three gain ranges (x2, x1, x10, up to +20 dB); section B is a precise logarithmic attenuator with three scales (1:10, 1:1, 1:100). With nothing patched, each input is normalled to an internal reference, turning the module into a dual adjustable voltage source. A bi-colour LED per section shows the polarity and level after its knob.
Key features
- Section A: attenuverter, inverted on the left half of the knob, gain ranges x2, x1 and x10 (+6 and +20 dB); clips at about ±11.5 V
- Section B: unipolar audio-taper attenuator, scales x0...0.1, x0...1 and x0...0.01
- Input A normalled to +5 V (-10...+10 V or -5...+5 V out), input B to +10 V (0...1 V, 0...10 V or 0...100 mV out)
- Red/green LEDs: red for positive voltages, green for negative, unlit near zero
- Rear jumper choosing section A's knob response: linear, moderate or extreme bending around zero
