Two photodiodes as light-to-voltage sensors
Panel · 10.2 × 128.5 mm
Description
Four resistors, two photodiodes and a dual op amp: the simplest NLC module so far. Each photodiode gives a current as light falls on it, turned by the op amp into a voltage following the light. Meant as an ambience and movement sensor, following changing light outdoors and your movements as you patch; it also works as an optical theremin, the voltage falling as a hand comes closer.
Key features
- Two photodiodes, each with its output
- 2 HP; Nonlinearcircuits publishes no current draw, depth or assembled price (it sells the DIY PCB and panel), and ModularGrid lists none
