PT2399 delay with its clock divided to 1/4096

Nonlinearcircuits · 10 HP · 3U

Panel · 50.8 × 128.5 mm

Description

A voltage-controlled PT2399 delay whose internal clock, in the MHz, comes out through a fast 74HC4040 divider in twelve stages, from /2 to /4096: everything else syncs to the delay. The divider also works alone, as a clock divider for a gate at CLOCK, or the whole as a VCO with sub-oscillator outputs (not 1V/oct). The switch's EGG-TIMER mode drives the divider from a crystal instead, for a steady count in seconds (0.125 Hz, 0.25 Hz, 0.5 Hz, 1 Hz...). The /8 output feeds DELAY IN1 when nothing is patched there, so the module sounds with no input.

Key features

  • Delay: DELAY IN1, DELAY IN2, RATE CV in, DELAY OUT; RATE, RATE CV and F/BACK knobs
  • Divider: CLOCK and RESET in, twelve outputs /2 to /4096, each with its LED; a DELAY SYNC / EGG-TIMER toggle
  • 10 HP; Nonlinearcircuits publishes no current draw, depth or assembled price (it sells the DIY PCB and panel), and ModularGrid lists none
