Sauce of Unce
A source of uncertainty after the Buchla 265: three noises, fluctuating and stored random voltages
Panel · 50.8 × 128.5 mm
Description
Based on the Buchla 265 Source of Uncertainty, with all the rare components replaced by regular parts: the noise source is different, the 0.05-50 Hz VCO is op amp based, the sample and hold sections use high-impedance op amps rather than 741s, and no 24 V supply is needed. Not a clone, but functionally about the same as the original: three noise outputs (low, flat and high), a smooth random voltage (random out) whose rate the RANDOM pot and the CV input set, and a stored random voltage sampled at each trigger (stored random out).
Key features
- Three noise outputs: low, flat and high
- Fluctuating random voltage: cv in, random out and its rate knob
- Stored random voltage: trig in, stored random out and its knob
- Two LEDs
- 10 HP; Nonlinearcircuits publishes no current draw, depth or assembled price (it sells the DIY PCB and panel), and ModularGrid lists none
