Transient envelope generator

Nonlinearcircuits · 8 HP · 3U

Panel · 40.6 × 128.5 mm

Description

A transient envelope generator after Electronotes #86: a wide range of envelopes and bursts, most notably envelopes that ring after the attack, with little trills at the top at the right settings. With DAMP turned high it bursts or self-oscillates, and it works well as a voltage-controlled LFO; it is neither an LFO nor a regular ADSR. GATE is held high with nothing patched, so it runs on its own. The VCA of earlier versions gave way to two more outputs.

Key features

  • GATE, TRIG, CV A-R and CV DAMP in; OUT1 twice, OUT2 and OUT3
  • GATE (the envelope's maximum level), CV A-R, ATTACK, RELEASE and DAMP knobs
  • A blue lamp
  • 8 HP; Nonlinearcircuits publishes no current draw, depth or assembled price (it sells the DIY PCB and panel), and ModularGrid lists none
