STO

The STO, Sub-Timbral Oscillator, is an analog oscillator built on a triangle core, the more subtle and melodic friend of the DPO. It has three outputs: Sine, shaped from the triangle; Sub, a stepped rectangular wave one octave below, which its S-GATE input turns on and off; and Variable Shape, derived from the sine, which ripples even and odd harmonics while keeping the fundamental strong. FREQ sets the coarse tune over nine octaves and FINE trims it by two and a half semitones; Linear FM with its attenuator, hard SYNC, and the SHAPE control with its CV input shape the timbre, and EXPO and 1V/OCT inputs set the pitch.
