Description

Doepfer's vactrol low pass gate, after Don Buchla's model 292: a 12 dB low pass filter that switches to a VCA or to both at once, where the sound darkens as it fades. Vintage Edition: black panel, black knobs with turned aluminium caps.

Key features

  • Three functions, low pass (LP), VCA, or both (L+V), set by the Function switch or by the two gate inputs G1 and G2
  • Frequency or loudness (F/A) set by hand and by two CV inputs, CV In 2 with its attenuator (CV2)
  • Audio input with its level control (Lev.), sensitive enough in filter mode to overdrive the filter
  • Resonance (Res.) up to self-oscillation
  • The LED shows the frequency or loudness control, the light inside the vactrols
