Bindubba

A 16-step sequencer in a 4x4 grid, clocked across and down, with jumps and two slewed outputs

Nonlinearcircuits · 28 HP · 3U

Panel · 142.2 × 128.5 mm

Description

A Eurorack re-boot of the Bindubba3 sequencer of the NLC 4U panels, with a few changes, designed to be used with the Divide & Conquer. Its 16 stages sit in a 4x4 grid, each with its pot and its LED. Six inputs control the stepping: two clock inputs count across and down the grid, two direction inputs change the direction of each count, and two jump inputs send the next step somewhere that depends on the 2^2 and 2^3 counts of the other direction: semi-random, but in use it allows more complex patterns. Sixteen gate outputs, one per stage; two CV outputs giving the same CV and an inverted one; two slew outputs, initially the same as the first CV out but slewed by their pot and their CV, each on its own: the larger the CV, the less slew, which suits bipolar signals such as the Sloth's.

Key features

  • 16 steps in a 4x4 grid, a pot and an LED each
  • CLOCK, JUMP and DIRECTION inputs across and down; SLEW CV 1 and 2
  • 16 GATES, SEQ OUT 1 and 2, INV and the SLEW 1 and 2 outputs with their pots
  • 28 HP; Nonlinearcircuits publishes no current draw, depth or assembled price (it sells the DIY PCB and panel), and ModularGrid lists none
