Description

Buchla's 296e Spectral Processor, a 200e series module two units wide: sixteen band-pass filters drawn by touch, each with its VCA and envelope follower.

Key features

  • Sixteen touch strips with their LEDs, from below 100 Hz to above 10 kHz; each band keeps an A level, a B level and the decay of its envelope follower
  • Morph from the A to the B response, by knob, c.v. and an audio modulation input
  • Cross-connected odd and even inputs with gain and pre-emphasis; odd, even, all and comb outputs
  • Sixteen envelope outputs and sixteen VCA inputs; spectrum transfer between the odd and even halves or from another unit
  • Freeze by button or pulse
  • The bands' levels and decays, the display, the spectrum transfer and remote enable kept in the patch
