Description

Michigan Synth Works' 8 HP Clouds: Mutable Instruments' open-source texture synthesizer, in Jakplugg's derivative design. A granular audio processor: it records the incoming audio into a buffer and plays it back as overlapping grains, shaped by POSITION, SIZE, PITCH, DENSITY and TEXTURE.

Key features

  • Granular processing of a stereo input, with a BLEND knob for dry/wet, stereo spread, feedback and reverb
  • FREEZE stops the recording, so the grains play the frozen buffer
  • Four LEDs: the input or output level, the quality setting or the BLEND parameter
  • A load/save button and a blend parameter/quality button
  • CV inputs for POSITION, SIZE, PITCH (V/OCT), DENSITY, TEXTURE and BLEND, a TRIG input and a FREEZE gate
  • Silver or black panel, the same engraving on both
