Description

Turns acoustic drums, drum machines, samplers, microphones and any audio source into gates and envelopes: a gate output for clocking sequencers, and an envelope with its inverse for side-chaining. Sold only as a pair with the PI Expander, 165 USD the pair, with no separate price.

Key features

  • Sensitivity knob and a light that shows blue on a signal and turns red as the input clips; any microphone or piezo works, except phantom-powered and electret microphones
  • Gate output, +8 V, from each hit, with its LED
  • Envelope outputs, non-inverted and inverted, each with its LED
  • Sustain sets the gate's width (5 ms to 0.5 s) and holds off misfires; Env. Decay from 70 ms to 6 s
  • Follow mode tracks the input's peaks; Gen. mode fires the same envelope shape with each gate
  • Current shown: the PI alone, +12 V 69 mA and -12 V 56 mA (the maker gives 104 and 65 with its Expander)
