Description

Michigan Synth Works' 8 HP Frames: Mutable Instruments' open-source keyframer and mixer, in Jakplugg's derivative design, its four level knobs turned into lit sliders. Four DC-coupled VCAs whose gains are stored as keyframes along the FRAME knob and morphed between them, as an attenuator, a mixer, a programmable CV source or a quadraphonic panner.

Key features

  • Four channels, each a slider with its LED, an input and an output; a MIX output of the four
  • Up to 64 keyframes along the FRAME knob, added with ADD and removed with DEL, with a FRAME CV input and its attenuverter (MOD)
  • An ALL input normalled to the four channel inputs
  • VREF: a constant +10 V into ALL, to use the module as a CV source
  • A trigger on STEP each time the animation crosses a keyframe
  • Silver or black panel, the same engraving on both
