QCD Expander

Gate width, trigger delay and inverted outputs for the QCD

Description

Expansion module for the Quad Clock Distributor: each of its four channels gets a gate width or trigger delay knob with CV, a second output with three modes and attenuators on its CV inputs, turning the QCD into a programmable non-linear sequencer.

Key features

  • Connects to the QCD with a 16-conductor ribbon cable (included); it needs a QCD to work
  • INV OUT on each channel runs at the tempo of the QCD's OUT, in three modes set by a switch: delayed trigger, inverted gate, or shuffle (delayed plus original trigger)
  • Gate PW (Trig Delay) knob sets the delay on INV OUT (or its width in Inverted Gate mode) and the pulse width of the QCD's main output, with a CV jack and an attenuverter
  • Div/Mult CV attenuverter scales and inverts the signal on the QCD's Div/Mult CV jack, to let one channel set another's speed precisely
  • The LEDs' brightness is set by a trimmer reached through a small hole in the panel
