Description

The Serge NEW GATES / VCFX 2023 is a Random*Source module in two halves: a gate, a VCA with three modes, and a filter Serge designed in 2023.

Key features

  • The gate's three modes, set by the switch: DC (linear, GAIN sets the base level, CV into LIN, an output from 0 to 5 V or more), AC (logarithmic, for audio, CV into LOG, the output AC coupled) and MOD (ring modulation by the MOD input)
  • The modes are not fenced off: a signal into another input still shapes the output
  • A special bandpass filter with a 2-pole (12 dB/octave) lowpass output, BAND and LOW
  • FREQ and Q under voltage control, each VC input with its attenuator, and an input GAIN
