Four CV switches, 1 into 4, 4 into 4 and 4 into 1

Nonlinearcircuits · 8 HP · 3U

Panel · 40.6 × 128.5 mm

Description

Built for the cellF neural synthesizer at MONA's Mofo exhibition in January 2017, to switch CV signals round periodically and make new patches over hours of running. Each knob sets its switch's turn-on point: fully down it is off, fully up on, both ignoring CV and gates; set between, the gate or CV at CV 1&2 (switches 1 and 2) or CV 3&4 (switches 3 and 4) opens it. IN1 feeds the switches of IN2, IN3 and IN4, and CV 1&2 that of CV 3&4. OUT ALL sums the four switched signals. It can deliver 1 into 4, 4 into 4 and 4 into 1 at once, or two 2 into 2.

Key features

  • CV 1&2, CV 3&4 and IN1 to IN4 in; OUT1 to OUT4 and OUT ALL
  • Four turn-on knobs, 1 to 4; an LED per output
  • 8 HP; Nonlinearcircuits publishes no current draw, depth or assembled price (it sells the DIY PCB and panel), and ModularGrid lists none
