A rise and fall envelope under vactrol control
Panel · 40.6 × 128.5 mm
Description
The NLC Triad with its rise and fall pots replaced by vactrols: lots of wobbly, evolving envelopes, and an interesting burst generator. Its end of cycle trigger, DONE, restarts the envelope when nothing is patched into DO IT, so it cycles on its own; CVs on UP and DOWN set the cycle's rates, which makes it a very unusual LFO. The RATE switch gives normal (centre), slow (up) and very slow (down) operation. Named after the pants most of us wore every day during the 2020 lockdowns.
Key features
- DO IT, CV UP and CV DOWN in; DONE (end of cycle trigger) and DOING (the envelope) out, each with its LED
- UP, DOWN, CV UP and CV DOWN knobs; a RATE toggle: slow, normal, very slow
- DONE restarts the envelope when DO IT is unpatched, so it cycles as an LFO
- 8 HP; Nonlinearcircuits publishes no current draw, depth or assembled price (it sells the DIY PCB and panel), and ModularGrid lists none
