Description

The ACL M/S Matrix converts a stereo signal between left/right and mid/side, in both directions. Its upper section encodes: the L IN and R IN inputs become a mid output (the sum of both channels) and a side output (their difference). Its lower section decodes: M IN and S IN become L OUT and R OUT again. Each of the four inputs has its own level control, so the width of a stereo image can be changed by adjusting the side signal against the mid, and mid and side can be processed separately in between, for example with different effects or dynamics.
