Description
Michigan Synth Works' 6 HP Warps: Mutable Instruments' open-source meta-modulator, in Jakplugg's derivative design, shipped with the Parasites alternative firmware. It crosses a carrier (IN1) and a modulator (IN2), each through its own VCA, by the algorithm the large knob selects, and has an internal oscillator to stand in for the carrier.
Key features
- ALGORITHM sweeps the cross-modulation algorithms, lit in a colour that follows it; TIMBRE sets each algorithm's tone, both with a CV input
- Parasites: nine modes, among them a binaural Doppler panner, a frequency shifter, a vocoder and a variable-rate delay, chosen by holding OSC and turning ALGORITHM
- LEV1 and LEV2 set the carrier's and the modulator's levels, each with a CV input; with the internal oscillator on, LEV1 and its CV set its pitch
- OSC turns the internal oscillator on and picks its waveform, shown by the LED
- OUT2: a second copy of OUT1; AUX carries the inputs' sum, or the internal oscillator
- A power header with no polarity: it can be plugged either way
- Silver or black panel
